My work shows my vision on the world in an alienated way. History, religion, politics, film, fairy tales, families and the media are my most important sources of inspiration.
I often produce series in which I fuse several stories together from which new images derive. I’m very much intrigued by the separate layers that exist in stories; I try to surface them. Guilt - innocence, power - impotence, man - woman: these are the relations that form the common denominator in my work.
Nothing is what it seems, you hear and see things in daily life that seem common normally. Not knowing what’s behind everything, really. I leave out redundant information, like time or place. Titles and humor however, definitely form a very important element. A few years ago my work mainly told of family life and the related family politics, now there has been a shifting to a more universal (and more political) contents.
